Meri Pajunpää was born in Finland in 1984. She grew up in Nurmijärvi where she started her dancing journey and continued as a free-student at Tanssivintti in Helsinki. In 2004-2008 she did her professional studies at the Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten, MTD. Since her graduation Meri has been working with choreographers such as Francesco Scavetta (touring the Surprised Body project 2010-2014), Sanna Myllylahti, Arno Schuitemaker, Jenni Kivelä, Vera Tussing, Peter Savel, Youness Khoukhou and Sarah Bostoen among others. She has also made several works of her own and collaborations with musiciens: The difficulty of ...2005, Leftovers at the Waterlooplein 2006, Stupid light 2007, Hetkessä 2013 and Splitting/Maierhof 2016. Along her career as a performer, Meri has been teaching contemporary dance for professionals in Finland and Belgium. She is currently based in Brussels and continues to develop her own work while performing with other makers.
