Leah, originally from the UK, spent three months with Sydney Dance Company’s Pre-Professional Year after graduating from the Victorian College of the Arts with a Bachelor of Dance in Melbourne 2013. Leah was the recipient of the Australian Council for the Arts, ArtStart Grant 2015 and received the Orloff Family Trust award for ‘Most Outstanding Dancer’ in 2013. Leah dances, makes dances, teaches dancing and writes about the above. Leah has worked closely with Theo Clinkard since May 2014, most recently collaborating with him for the making of, 'somewhat still when seen from above' Clinkard's commission for Tanztheatre Wuppertal Pina Bausch, and 'The Listening Room' for Danza Contemporánea de Cuba. She has performed Clinkard's 'Ordinary Courage’ and ‘Of Land and Tongue’ alongside works with makers and companies; Colette Sadler, Candoco Dance Company, Clod Ensemble, Mirjam Gurtner, Becky Hilton, Seke Chimutengwende, among others. Leah was Rehearsal Director for Skänes Dansteater in Malmö, Sweden in 2016 for Ben Wright's To See the World while the Light Lasts, and this year she premieres Colette Sadlers new creation Learning from the Future.
