In 2012, Theo launched his own project based company to develop a portfolio of compelling and visually arresting dance works that explore the communicative potential of the body and the empathetic nature of dance in performance.

The company have toured his work extensively across the UK and internationally (Chile, Switzerland, Germany), receiving critical and audience acclaim as well as invites to present work at the prestigious British Dance Edition (Edinburgh and Cardiff) and at Internationale Tanzmesse NRW 2016 in Dusseldorf.

His inaugural company piece Ordinary Courage (**** The Observer) was performed by a cast of six and a concert pianist. Set to a series of Scarlatti sonatas, the work examined the nature of loss and the capacity for movement and touch to communicate when words are inadequate. Of Land & Tongue (**** The Observer) a double bill, which includes Chalk the duet he performs with composer James Keane, was conceived for an audience of sixty and toured to unconventional spaces such as a school gym, a fruit market, an Art Deco hall, a converted cinema, a converted chapel, an Arts and Crafts Quaker hall, a converted Buttery and a Maltings.

This Bright Field is Clinkard’s most recent company work was developed with a cast of twelve dancers and set to live music. This ambitious full-length work, which considers attention, perspective and the roles of the observer and the observed, premiered in May 2017, before touring across the UK.

Theo collaborates with a range of freelance artists for each project.
